One app, two promises

Safety for them. Privacy for you.

WebShield was built for households — which means it protects the nine-year-old on the tablet and the adult on the late-night scroll, without treating either as an afterthought.

For your kids

A safer internet for growing minds

Kids don’t go looking for the worst of the internet — it finds them. WebShield keeps adult content, gambling and known scam sites from ever loading, and keeps search results family-friendly on Google and YouTube.

  • Adult & harmful content filtered automatically Advanced
  • Safe Search enforced on Google, Bing, YouTube and DuckDuckGo Advanced
  • Switch off TikTok, YouTube or gaming, and choose the hours they’re allowed back Premium
  • A separate profile for each child, with its own rules and its own numbers

For you

Quiet privacy, everywhere you browse

Ads that follow you around, trackers that report where you’ve been, coffee-shop Wi-Fi that watches what you look up — WebShield shuts the door on all of it, quietly, in the background.

  • Ads and trackers stripped out before they load
  • Every lookup encrypted — invisible to public Wi-Fi
  • Known scam & phishing sites stopped cold Advanced
  • We count lookups, never the sites you visit

Harmful sites blocked before they load

Browsing leaves your phone encrypted

You decide the rules for your home

Covers every app, not just the browser

How it works

Set up once. Protected always.

No router settings, no per-app fiddling, nothing to remember. Three steps and your household is covered.

  1. Install & sign in

Get WebShield from Google Play and create one account for the whole household. It takes about two minutes.

  2. Choose your rules

Flip simple switches: filter adult content, keep search results clean, switch whole services off. Different rules for kids and grown-ups.

  3. Get on with life

From then on, every website request from your devices is checked against your rules — silently, instantly, in every app.

What happens when a website is opened

1. Someone opens a site In any app or browser, on any family phone
sent encrypted
2. WebShield checks it Against the rules you chose for that profile
in an instant
Safe siteLoads normally, at full speed
Harmful siteStopped before the page can open

Ads and trackers simply never arrive — nothing flashes, nothing pops up, and there is no slowdown you would notice. A blocked adult or scam site shows a short “blocked” notice instead of the page.

Less policing. More parenting.

You can’t look over their shoulder every minute — and you shouldn’t have to. WebShield handles the background worry so screen time can just be time together.

Trust, earned honestly

What WebShield is — and isn’t

You’re trusting us with your family. That deserves straight answers.

It’s not a spy app

WebShield can’t read messages, see screens, or track location. It only sees which websites are being asked for — and it counts them without keeping a list of them.

It’s guidance, not a padlock

No app can truly out-stubborn a determined teenager, and we won’t pretend otherwise — a child who fully controls a device can uninstall any app. WebShield makes the safe path the easy path and tells you when protection is switched off. The parenting stays yours.

Your data isn’t the product

You pay a small subscription; that’s the whole business. We don’t sell browsing data, show you ads, or share your family’s activity with anyone.

Private, not invisible

WebShield encrypts your internet lookups and keeps them out of snoopers’ hands. It isn’t a VPN service and it isn’t an anonymity cloak — it doesn’t change your location or hide who you are online.

Questions parents ask

Fair questions, straight answers

Is this a VPN? Will it hide what my family does online?

WebShield uses a small piece of VPN technology on the phone, but it isn’t a VPN service. Only your website lookups travel through it — everything else leaves your phone the normal way — so it doesn’t reroute your traffic or change your location. It checks and filters which websites load, and keeps those lookups encrypted and private. Nothing about your family’s activity is hidden from you.

Will it slow down our internet or drain the battery?

No. WebShield only checks the address of each site — not the content flowing through — so pages load at full speed. Blocking ads and trackers usually makes browsing feel faster, and the battery impact is negligible.

Can my child just switch it off?

Protection changes sit behind a guardian PIN, so casual switching-off is stopped, and you’re alerted if a device’s protection is turned off. Honestly, though: a determined teen with full control of a device can uninstall any app. WebShield’s job is to make the safe path the default and keep you in the picture — not to replace the conversation.

What can WebShield see about our browsing?

Website addresses pass through our resolver so your rules can be applied to them, but they aren’t written down. There is no browsing history on our servers — the resolver keeps only a small in-memory buffer that is constantly overwritten and never saved to disk. What we do keep is counts: how many lookups each profile made per day, so you can see your own activity chart. Never the addresses themselves, never page content, messages, passwords or photos. Each profile is identified by a random code rather than your name or email.

Does it work inside apps, or only in the browser?

Everywhere. Because WebShield works at the connection level, it protects every app on the phone — browsers, games, social media, the lot.

Can I block apps during homework time?

Close, but it works the other way round, and we’d rather be exact about it. You choose the services to switch off — TikTok, YouTube, a gaming platform — and then choose the hours each day they’re allowed through, say from after school until bedtime. Outside those hours they stay off. So you set the window when they’re available, rather than carving individual blocks out of the day.

How do I pay, and how do I cancel?

Everything will run through your Google Play account — the same place you’d manage Netflix or Spotify. Your first 7 days are free, and cancelling takes two taps in Play Store settings.

Which devices does it work on?

Android phones and tablets running Android 6.0 or later. iPhone and desktop aren’t supported yet.
